You Are Beautiful

from $180.00

Riding down the winding Mississippi River, just past the Port of New Orleans, the Creole Queen Paddlewheeler churns up the muddy water below its large red wooden wheels. As the riverboat travels down the river new sites appear while Jackson Square slides out of view, nestled under its oak trees just behind the levee at the water’s edge. The river bends and all eyes are drawn upward to read a large message painted in white on the brick facade of an old rice mill. The graffiti reads, “You Are Beautiful’ and while you’re still smiling from that message you see the Rusty Rainbow Bridge. This industrial designed bridge leads all who travel from the Bywater community over the railroad tracks to a crescent shaped garden below and instantly, you too, are transported to a magical place. It’s when we embrace the details around us, along with the scars of our past, that we truly see our surroundings and can radiate a positive light.

ABOUT the FINE ART GICLEE: Produced from my original artwork and are printed on high-quality archival canvas using archival inks, stretched over a .75” or 1.5” wood frame with the print image wrapping around edge of canvas and are ready to hang using the mounted picture wire. (The 1.5” depth canvas works best for hanging without framing.) The giclee is signed on the front in silver, titled/labeled/signed on the back and comes with a signed letter of authenticity should it ever need appraisal.

CUSTOM FRAMING: Handmade floating frames created using reclaimed wood. Frames add an additional 3 inches to the overall width and height of giclee. (Floating frame for 1.5” gallery wrap giclee available upon request.)

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
