Tulips of City Park

from $110.00

The banks of Big Lake, adjacent to the New Orleans Museum of Art, in City Park come alive with the splendor of the seasonal plantings of 21,000 tulip bulbs in January, which then erupt in an explosion of colorful blooms in February/March lasting about two weeks. Just beyond the tulips & large splashing fountain swan pedal boats bring back nostalgic memories of childhood boat rides & romantic date excursions.

City Park, New Orleans began in 1891 when a donation of the first 100 acres came from the once Allard Plantation. Now the largest public park made up of approximately 1,300 acres, 50% larger than Central Park in New York City, holds the world's largest collection of mature live oak trees, some 600 plus years old.

ABOUT the FINE ART GICLEE: Produced from my original artwork and they are printed on high-quality archival canvas using archival inks, stretched over a .75” or 1.5” wood frame with the print image wrapping around edge of canvas and are ready to hang using the mounted picture wire. (The 1.5” depth canvas works best for hanging without framing.) The giclee is signed on the front in silver, titled/labeled/signed on the back and comes with a signed letter of authenticity should it ever need appraisal.

CUSTOM FRAMING: Handmade floating frames created using reclaimed wood. Frames add an additional 3 inches to the overall width and height of giclee.

PROCESSING TIME & SHIPPING: Giclees are made to order and are ready to ship in 1-2 weeks within the U.S.

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
