Reflections On Chartres St.

from $15.00

You see life is only a reflection of what we allow ourselves to see.

A rainy day with only obstacles of endless puddles ahead -or- you see clearly now the rain is gone, leaving a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colors waving under foot as you make your way along Chartres St. continuing on to your next adventure. Life truly is a matter of perspective.

Did you know that Chartres St. is the longest street in the French Quarter & is at the center of it all starting at Canal St., going through Jackson Square all the way to the other end of the Bywater community. The street is lined with some of the best Nola has to offer including boutiques, restaurants, galleries, the Cabildo & Presbytère Museums, St. Louis Cathedral & residences making it one of my very favorite streets to explore.

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
