If its PURPLE on the OUTSIDE, it’s only the BEST on the INSIDE!!!
Residents of Nola still pay homage to the legacy of K&B Drugstore’s infamous happy accident that came to be their signature purple.
There are many stories on how the “K&B Purple” color came to be, some say the color was the work of the owners wife who bought purple paper on clearance to save money while others say it was bought from a vendor at a steep discount because the original buyer did not like the color. Regardless of which story is true, “K&B Purple” became an instant hit to describe the superior quality of products available inside their stores. This legacy remains even after the last K&B shut it’s doors after a buyout in 1997.
The sun hasn’t set on “K&B purple”. It’s instead come to symbolize our shared yesterdays, a bright, only-in-New-Orleans homage to all the things that "ain't there no more." And a color that might be ugly if it wasn't just so darn beautiful.
Each one of my paintings captures a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in, taking in all the flavor of my surroundings. It’s up the viewer to decide if the painting is one set in the present or 300 years ago.

ABOUT the FINE ART GICLEE: Produced from my original artwork and they are printed on high-quality archival canvas using archival inks, stretched over a .75” or 1.5” wood frame with the print image wrapping around edge of canvas and are ready to hang using the mounted picture wire. (The 1.5” depth canvas works best for hanging without framing.) The giclee is signed on the front in silver, titled/labeled/signed on the back and comes with a signed letter of authenticity should it ever need appraisal.
CUSTOM FRAMING: Handmade floating frames created using reclaimed wood. Frames add an additional 3 inches to the overall width and height of giclee.

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
