Peace of Mind is defined as a mental state of calmness or tranquility, a freedom from worry and anxiety. Finding bliss in our stressful lives proves to be a daunting task but remember SERENITY ISN’T FREEDOM FROM THE STORM it is instead FINDING PEACE AMID THE STORM. Yes, read that line again.
This painting wasn’t planned or even sketched. It was born of my need to find serenity in moments of being overwhelmed by all that life was dishing out on repeat. As the paint went down, one knife stroke at a time, I was transported and reminded that I have control over my own state of bliss. JUST BREATH…

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
