What’s the history of the Nola Gas Lanterns?

There nothing more Naturally Nawlins’ than the nostalgic charm of cast-iron gas lanterns so the addition of traditional Christmas holly feels like a match made in historical heaven.

The first gas lantern was introduced to New Orleans in 1824. By 1860 there were more than 2500 gas street lights illuminating the city streets. In 1882, electric arc street lights arrived, covering the city in its entirety by 1900. Twenty years later, the desire for nostalgia called to the citizens of New Orleans and replicas of the charming cast-iron gas lamps started to be installed which are still seen on the streets today.

Why is the Nola Noel series important to me?

The core of my annual Nola Noel series is the nostalgic Christmas memories made with family & friends throughout the years visiting downtown New Orleans for the holidays. After all memories are what we truly cherish for a lifetime.

What’s An ArtBlock?

A handmade product lovingly created in my studio using one of my paper prints mounted on a 6”x6”x1.75” solid block of stained poplar wood.

How do Display an ArtBlock?

ArtBlocks can be displayed sitting on a shelf or can hang aided by the routed key hole slot on the back which allows the block to sit flush to the wall.
