Let's Geaux

from $110.00

This is the moment when courage takes flight.

You see, adventure doesn’t begin when we feel ready, it begins when we leap and it grows stronger when we’re surrounded by those who lift us up. Fear will always be there but it doesn’t get to decide the outcome because what we don’t face becomes our limit. So take the leap and chase what sets your heart on fire.

This piece came from thinking about what holds us back and what sets us free. Fear is ever present, yet it holds no power unless we allow it. The boundaries of our lives are often shaped by the fears we leave unchallenged. So this is a reminder that the life we seek awaits just beyond the edge of our hesitation.

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
