Harmony Of The Wetlands

from $125.00

Rooted in generational bonds, we are born of a community that continue to tap the depths of culture that run deep in Louisiana’s roots. South Louisiana landscapes are marked with cypress trees defying the odds of the disappearing wetlands they call home and the relentless storms that pound them every hurricane season. While their battle scars are many they continue to stand, weathering the storms that shape them, framing every sunrise and sunset cast across the horizon becoming a beacon of hope for us all. That beacon pounds the heart of all Louisianans and resonates through it’s music which rises directly through the deepest taproot of them all forming the harmony of the wetlands.

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
