Happy Days - Let It Bee

from $180.00

Sunflowers hold their heads high but they go through a lot of dirt to get there!!! A field of sunflowers all smiling back at you is like a sky with a thousand suns. These flowers are the ultimate in looking at the bright side because regardless of where the sun travels in the sky, the faces of these flowers faithfully follow.

While bees are know for their work ethic, they also know the importance of stopping to smell the flowers. Technically speaking, a bee should not be able to fly due to their lack of aerodynamic design. Reminding us to not set limitations on ourselves. After all it’s doubtful the bee knows it shouldn’t fly, it simply DOES, and SO CAN YOU…Let it Bee!

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
