Marsh Melody

from $180.00

Louisiana’s culture, people and wildlife are as diverse as they come. This piece celebrates our collected diversity with music notes embedded into all the colors of the wind driven setting sun. The underlying theme, painted on ribbons of colors, spanning the length of this piece are the music notes to ‘Born on the Bayou’. Though the line wavers, twists and bends it never breaks granting us wings to celebrate our heritage. We know what it’s like to battle back from adversity and rise above stronger than before. We do this on the backs of others, working hand in hand to help each other through the most difficult of times because that’s what it means to be a Louisianian.

(The 1.5” depth canvas works best for hanging without framing.) The giclee is signed on the front in silver, titled/labeled/signed on the back and comes with a signed letter of authenticity should it ever need appraisal.

CUSTOM FRAMING: Handmade floating frames created using reclaimed wood. Frames add an additional 3 inches to the overall width and height of giclee. (Floating frame for 1.5” gallery wrap giclee available upon request.)

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
