A Summer's Stroll

from $110.00

The bottle brush tree’s blooms mark the end of long summer days to come as they sway in the warm breeze. Taking a stroll down Nola streets is like walking back in time. You’re surrounded by ornate wrought iron balconies and hand carved corbels that greet you as you walk under the awnings they support. Corbels add a Naturally Nawlin's flair to Creole cottages and Antebellum homes. The style is most prevalent in New Orleans than in any other part of the country and was most common from the 1880s into 1920s. Nola corbels come in a variety of shapes and sizes with some carvings being unique to one home. While some corbels are structural most are strictly ornamental.

ABOUT the FINE ART GICLEE: Produced from my original artwork and they are printed on high-quality archival canvas using archival inks, stretched over a .75” or 1.5” wood frame with the print image wrapping around edge of canvas and are ready to hang using the mounted picture wire. (The 1.5” depth canvas works best for hanging without framing.) The giclee is signed on the front in silver, titled/labeled/signed on the back and comes with a signed letter of authenticity should it ever need appraisal.

CUSTOM FRAMING: Handmade floating frames created using reclaimed wood. Frames add an additional 3 inches to the overall width and height of giclee.

PROCESSING TIME & SHIPPING: Giclees are made to order and are ready to ship in 1-2 weeks within the U.S.

I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
